Cocaine is a Strongly effective, illegal stimulant. It is made from the leaves of the Coca plant and is usually traded as a white powder.
Effect:
- Stimulating and performance-enhancing
- conveys feelings of Euphoria, self-confidence and increased energy
- Suppresses tiredness and hunger
Forms of consumption:
- is mostly snuffed (nasal)
- less frequently smoked ("crack") or injected (intravenously)
Risks:
- Physically: Palpitations, high blood pressure, seizures, heart attack or stroke
- Psychological: Anxiety, aggression, depression after intoxication
- In the long term: High risk for DependenceDamage to the heart, brain and nasal mucous membranes
- additional danger of Infections (e.g. HIV, hepatitis)
