Ecstasy

Ecstasy is a synthetic drugwhich mostly affect the substance MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine) contains. It is often used in the form of Tablets or capsules consumed.

Effect:

  • Increase from Energy, euphoria and a feeling of closeness to others
  • Reinforcement of Sensory impressions (music, colours, touch)
  • Suppression of tiredness and hunger

Risks and side effects:

  • Physically: Increased pulse, sweating, increased blood pressure, overheating (heat exhaustion to circulatory collapse)
  • Psychological: Anxiety, confusion, depressive moods after consumption
  • In the long term: Possible damage to the brain and psyche, addiction

Special feature:

  • Ecstasy tablets do not always contain pure MDMA. They can be laced with other, sometimes dangerous substances.
