Gender refers to the social gender of a person. It describes how people experience and express their gender identity - regardless of the biological sex assigned at birth.
To the Gender include, for example:
- Gender identityThe inner knowledge or feeling of being a man, a woman, both, neither or something else.
- Gender expressionHow someone shows their gender to the outside world, e.g. through clothing, language, gestures or behaviour.
- Social role modelsExpectations and norms associated with "masculine" or "feminine" in a culture.
