Rainbow family refers to a family in which at least one parent is lesbian, gay, bi, trans, non-binary or queer.
Forms of rainbow families can be
- two mothers or two fathers with children
- queer couples or individuals with children
- Patchwork families in which parents from previous relationships are involved
- Families in which one parent is trans or non-binary
