Dim Dukov, a well-known gay entrepreneur and activist in Bulgaria, died on 28 February at the age of 47.
In 2006, Damaskin Stoyanov Dukov, as he is known by his full name, became famous throughout Bulgaria through his participation in the TV show "VIP Brother". He appeared there openly as a gay man and thus gave important impetus to the Bulgarian lesbian, gay, bisexual and gay rights movement. Dukov was also one of the founders and driving forces behind the QueerQueer is a collective term for people whose sexual orientation or gender identity does not conform to the social norm of "heterosexuality".
