Ibrahim Mokdad (he/him)
AIDS Support NRW
Ibrahim Mokdad is the Programme Officer for Migration at Aidshilfe NRW. In this role, he provides guidance and support to, amongst other things, the state-wide MiSSA NRW network and works at the intersection of HIV prevention, migration, displacement, community empowerment and health.
As well as his work at Aidshilfe NRW, he is involved in counselling and anti-violence work with queer refugees and migrants at rubicon e.V.
He founded SOFRA Queer Migrants e.V., the first organisation in North Rhine-Westphalia dedicated specifically to the interests of queer migrants and refugees.
Lina Kabangu
MiSSA NRW
Lina is a Black woman, of Congolese origin and raised in Germany.
Member of the Executive Board of AGHNiD e.V. – a nationwide network of Black social workers – and speaker on anti-Black racism.
Lina is a member of the MiSSA NRW network.
(Dr) Amit Marcus (all pronouns)
PRADI Network – Aidshilfe Düsseldorf
Amit Marcus is a social worker and a former literary scholar.
Over the past ten years, Amit has worked with queer refugees and migrants, mainly gay and bisexual men*. He spent eight of those years at the PRADI counselling centre run by Aidshilfe Düsseldorf.
Amit is originally from Israel and provides consultancy services in German, English and Arabic.
Eva Steinweg
LSVD⁺ project „Refugees and Queer People – Settling in Germany“
Eva Steinweg works on the LSVD⁺ project „Refugees and Queer – Settling in Germany“ and is committed to supporting the integration of LGBTIQA* refugees, migrants and new arrivals into the labour market.
She was already involved with SCHLAU NRW from 1999 to 2005: through the ‘aufgeklemmt! Köln’ project, she educated over 3,500 pupils about sexual and gender diversity and, as regional spokesperson, helped to establish full-time regional structures.
After many years in senior roles in the business world, she now builds bridges between the labour market, integration and equal opportunities. At the same time, as a systemic coach at Steinweg Consulting, she supports, amongst others, rainbow families, queer young people and those going through periods of change. The themes of diversity and social cohesion shape not only her professional work but also her life as part of a rainbow family.
